Our Heroes who have endured and survived a terror attack or have been wounded in military actions in defense of Israel are often left housebound solely under the protective wing of close family which can be very demoralizing and debilitating.

The natural urge of our Heroes is to be rehabilitated, to build self confidence and to win once again!!

Tikvot is a non profit volunteer based organization which rehabilitates Israel's victims of terror through sport.

Tikvot means "Hopes" in Hebrew and it has been proven that sport Tikvot's tool provides our Heroes with Hope, giving them the power to restore self confidence and dignity and ultimately bringing back those long-lost smiles.

Tikvot operates in tandem with the world’s top specialist organizations with specific expertise in the design of unique sports rehabilitation programs suited expressly to each disability. TIKVOT - brings along the guidance, support and funding for these projects, beginning with the onset of injury and the subsequent period of hospitalization to ultimate rehabilitation on the sports field.

TIKVOT - knows that sports participation can play a major role in the rebuilding of the victim’s self esteem and assist him/her to come to terms with disability. The aim is to enable each one to once again become an active participant in society and to encourage aspirations to become the young leaders of tomorrow.

TIKVOT - have many testimonies of people who have regained former peaks of achievement and impressive levels of rehabilitation through active participation in sport.

Dror Cohen, a former F-16 pilot who was injured in the line of duty, and is now confined to a wheelchair, participated in the 2004 Paralympics in Athens. Dror won a gold medal for Israel in Etgarim's sailing team says: "Sport is the only way to normalize your mind, your fears and doubts, and regain your self-confidence."
